Neurologist goes over principles of physicians serving as Ringside Physicians

An post was just recently published in the South African Journal of sports medicine Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Australia going over the principles of physicians serving as ringside physicians for battle sports, activities that are inherently hazardous for brain health.

The paper, titled “Neurologist at Ringside – To be or not to be?” notes that Camiseta Selección de fútbol de Camerún combative sports “are generally believed to be harmful to the brain” as well as that medical associations commonly condemn these sports.  nevertheless the athletes contending in the sports are much better served by having qualified physicians overseeing events.

In the post Dr. Sethi notes “while medical associations as well as physicians, including neurologists, may not support boxing or MMA, their existence at the ringside or cageside assists to make these sports safer with protecting the health and wellness as well as security of a battle sports athlete.”
